Arts & Children

artist residencies for at-risk youth

Since 1984, L.A. Theatre Works' Arts & Children project has utilized the arts to positively impact the lives of more than 60,000 high-risk, incarcerated students within the Los Angeles County Juvenile Court, as well as youth in underserved public schools.

ARTS & CHILDREN
provides in-depth artist residencies that span a wide range of arts disciplines.  We work with Juvenile Court Camp High Schools, Court Facility Group Homes, after-school programs, and traditional classrooms in Title I schools in Los Angeles County.  Funded in part by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Harman Family Foundation, Northrop Grumman, and the Target Corporation, we are proud to partner with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the American Lung Association, the African American Unity Center, and Los Angeles Unified School District, among others.  If you are interested in our work or would like to inquire about a residency, please contact us at education@latw.org 1.800.708.8863
