What is the difference between a $46 seat and a $39 seat?
The Skirball Theatre is divided into three sections (see map). The majority of the seats are at the $46 level. The $39 level is for the 2 seats on either the extreme right or extreme left (although there are a few at that price in the very last row, and behind the sound board on stage left) . Because of how the air conditioning vents have been placed in the theater, however, it may be cooler in these. By and large, they are quite comfortable and the view is unobstructed. There truly is no “bad” viewing from any in the house.

How large is the Skirball Theatre? Is parking available?
The theatre at the Skirball has 330 seats and lends itself well to the intimacy of a radio recording. Parking in the Skirball lot is free in the parking structure and their lot across the street. Because of high volume of weekend visitors,, Saturday patrons are advised to park in the lot across the street.

Why do all your materials say “Casts are subject to change without notice”?
While we are fortunate to live in a city where there is a great pool of professional talent, we must compete with film and television companies for their services. Agents usually ask that our contract permis the performer to leave our production, if they receive certain offers. We try to give our audience as much notice of this as possible via website, email, and outgoing phone messages.

Why should I become a Subscriber?
Ticket prices per show are considerably lower for subscribers. Plus, you may exchange tickets within shows without charge. Subscribers receive up to 20% discount on additional ticket purchases as well as purchases from our Audio Collection (perfect for gift-givers). Keep in mind, however, that there is more to L.A. Theatre Works than just “The Play’s The Thing” series. We also do a national outreach to school children and libraries through our “Alive & Aloud” program, as well our “Arts & Children” program which serves underprivileged, at-risk youth in L.A. area after-school programs. Your subscription fee helps support these programs as well!
