Melanie Dix is a painter and photographer, and a former actress. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and attended the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University.

Her favorite roles in Chicago include Vivienne in American Divine: The Passover and Vixen in The Eight: Reindeer Monologues with Dolphinback Theatre Company, and Ester in When Ester Saw the Light at the Bailiwick Director's Festival.
