George Furth was an American librettist, playwright, and actor. He is best known for writing the screenplays for the films Company, Twigs, and Ma and Pa.

Furth’s Broadway works include Company and Merrily We Roll Along (Alvin Theatre), Twigs and Getting Away with Murder (Broadhurst Theatre), The Act (Majestic Theatre), The Supporting Cast (Biltmore Theatre), and Precious Sons (Longacre Theatre).

Broadway acting credits include Jordan in A Cook for Mr. General (Playhouse Theatre) and Hot Spot (Majestic Theatre).
