Terry Allen is an American scriptwriter, musician, and visual artist. His staged plays include Ring II: The Embrace...Advanced to Fury, Anti-Rabbit Bleeder, Ghost Ship Rodez, Juarez (A Simple Story), Reunion (A Return to Juarez), Dugout, Dugout II: Hold on to the House, Dugout III: Warboy (and the Backboard Blues). He co-wrote Pioneer with Jo Harvey Allen, Rende Eckert, and Paul Dresher Band; Do You Know What Your Children Are Tonight? with Jo Harvey Allen, Bukka Allen, and Bale Allen; and Chippy: Diaries of a West Texas Hooker and Covenant with Jo Harvey Allen. Allen also composed the play, Leon and Lena (and lenz).

He has received numerous awards and honors including Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Art Fellowships; Awards for the Visual Arts; Bessie and Isadora Duncan Critic Awards for Text, Music, Sets, and Costumes; as well as an Induction into the Buddy Holly Walk of Fame.
