Grey Johnson

Grey Johnson directs classics as well as many new works. He has directed over twenty productions for the GSC over the years including new plays such as Henry Lumper, Park Your Car in Harvard Yard, and North Shore Fish by GSC Artistic Director Israel Horovitz; American Beef by Elizabeth Diggs; Better Days by Richard Dresser; Semper Fi by Michael Brady; Nighthawks by Douglas Steinberg; as well as the American premiers of Michael Gow's Away, Stephen Jeffreys' adaptation of Dickens' Hard Times, Jim Cartwright's Road, Michael Frayn's Benefactors, and Peter Gill's Small Change among others. He writes and adapts for the stage and has created many major theatrical events for communities, corporations, theatres and museums. He has served as Guest Artistic Director of Boston Youth Theater, Producing Director at Boston Shakespeare Company and Associate Artistic Director at Gloucester Stage.
