Karen Burlingame is an actress and opera singer, who is best known as Kelly in Black Water by John Duffy (American Music Theatre Festival) and Hanna Glawari in Merry Widow and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus (Bagley Wright Theatre). She also sang in John Duffy’s A Time for Remembrance with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
Karen has participated in many workshops for theatre pieces and operas including The Singing (York Theatre), Joan of Arc (Manhattan Theatre), Gatsby (MSO Productions), and Temple (Seattle Repertory).
Karen has been a soloist with Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Colorado Symphony, and Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra.
She has performed leading roles with Central City Opera, Opera Manhattan, Eugene Opera, Hilton Head Playhouse, Tacoma Opera, L.A. Theatre Works, and Off-Center Opera. She has been soloist on concerts with Bang on a Can, Harold Prince Musical Theatre Program, and Cooper Arts at Cooper Union.
